We try to collect as little as possible, never sell your information, and never train our AI model on the briefs you submit. Here is exactly how it works.

Last updated: April 30, 2026

The short version

Day One Branding does not require an account. We do not sell your data. We do not train our AI model on the briefs you submit. We use a small amount of standard server and analytics data to keep the service running and to fight abuse. The longer version is below.

What we collect

When you use Day One Branding, we may receive:

  • Your brief. The description, style preferences, and TLD choices you submit to the generator.
  • Generated output. The names and domain availability results returned for your session.
  • Technical data. Standard server logs such as IP address, user agent, request timestamps, and pages viewed, used to operate the service and detect abuse.
  • Analytics events. Aggregate, privacy-friendly usage analytics such as page views and approximate region.
  • Messages you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message.

We do not knowingly collect names, addresses, phone numbers, payment details, or other sensitive personal information. Please do not include personal information in your brief.

How we use it

We use the information described above to:

  • Generate name suggestions and check domain availability for your session.
  • Operate, maintain, debug, and secure the service.
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms of Service.
  • Understand aggregate usage so we can improve the product.
  • Reply to support requests you send us.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

AI and your prompts

Briefs are sent to the AI model that powers Day One Branding so we can generate names for you. We do not use your brief to train or fine-tune our model, and we do not share your brief with third-party AI providers for their own training. Briefs may be retained for a short period in operational logs to debug the service and prevent abuse, then are deleted on a rolling basis.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:

  • Infrastructure providers that host the service (for example, hosting, CDN, and logging providers) under contracts that limit their use of the data to running the service for us.
  • Domain availability sources that we query to determine whether a generated domain appears available. We send the candidate domain, not your brief.
  • Legal recipients when we believe disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Day One Branding, our users, or others.
  • Successors in the event of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case the recipient will be bound by terms at least as protective as those described here.

Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of essential cookies and similar technologies for things like remembering your preferences and securing the service. We use privacy-friendly analytics to count page views and understand which features are used. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not allow third parties to track you across other sites through Day One Branding.

Retention

We keep operational logs for a short period (typically 30 days or less) and then delete or aggregate them. Aggregate analytics may be kept longer in anonymized form. Support emails are kept for as long as reasonably needed to handle the conversation and any follow-ups.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS in transit, restricted access to production systems, and least-privilege internal access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please report any suspected vulnerability to us at support@dayonebranding.com.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because we do not maintain user accounts, we may not be able to identify the data associated with you. To exercise a right, email support@dayonebranding.com from the address that originated the request, and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Children

Day One Branding is intended for users 16 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email support@dayonebranding.com and we will delete it.

International transfers

We operate online and your information may be processed in countries other than the one you live in. Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for international transfers of personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
